Toyota previews FT-Bh concept [w/video]
Wed, 22 Feb 2012Toyota has released the first images along with a video for its new FT-Bh concept car, set to be unveiled at the Geneva motor show.
The FT-Bh – Future Toyota B-segment hybrid – previews a production-destined car designed to maximize fuel efficiency and built using economically-viable construction methods and technologies.
The five principal factors that the Toyota's designers have focused on are reducing the car's weight (just 800kg), increasing its aerodynamic performance as well as its powertrain efficiency via thermal energy management and electricity saving qualities.
These initial images also reveal some very interesting-looking lighting design solutions.
Toyota claims that CO2 emissions for the FT-Bh are around 50 percent lower than the current average for the supermini msrket. The company also maintains that the car is as spacious as others within the B-segment.
Toyota's Geneva booth will also feature the Yaris Hybrid, recently announced for the European market, as well as the NS4 plug-in hybrid and FCV-R hydrogen fuel-cell concepts, along with the GT 86 sports car.
